OPEN POSITIONS

Team Leader

STATUS: Full time – 38 hours/week
REPORTS TO: Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

To support and assist young people participating in the Productivity Bootcamp in Construction program to successfully complete the program and obtain and maintain employment or education goals upon completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this position you support and engage with young people, motivating them through their growth and development. Teaching life skills, building rapport, role modelling positive behaviour and assisting them with their needs. This role includes supporting and leading a team of participants, informal counseling, liaising with local services and facilitating interactive workshops.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities include;
• Recruitment and selection of program participants
• Facilitate interactive workshops focusing on    employment and development of life skills
• Deliver daily warm-up and exercise routines
• Facilitate access to support services
• Provide case management support
• Provide mentoring and informal counselling     to participants
• Administrative tasks including data entry,       filing, photocopying, managing confidential
information and other administrative duties
• Regular reporting using a variety of     reporting tools
• Build and maintain strong relationships     with local services, schools, community
groups, employers and other key   stakeholders
• Provide assistance with job search-related     activities including upskilling
Bootcampers to become independent job   searchers
• Liaise with service providers for the delivery   of support, referral, and advocacy
• Provide innovative opportunities for youth   development
• Maintain high levels of communication with   program Tradesman/Trainers for the
purpose of collaborative participant support

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a current NSW working with     children check
• Must have current driver’s licence and   reliable car

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong ability to build rapport and trust with   young people
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment,   manage deadlines and multi-task
• Ability to design and facilitate interactive   workshops for up to 25 young people at a
time including research and facilitation skills
• Capacity to liaise with various local services   and maintain strong networks within the
community
• Ability to multi-task within a team
• Willingness to take on tasks as directed by   supervisors
• Ability to problem solve and assist others   with solving problems
• Capacity to be pro-active and show initiative   in the workplace
• Ability to communicate effectively with   participants and local services
• Capability to coach and mentor participants   when necessary and actively listen to
their needs
• Strong computer literacy skills with   proficiency in applications including; outlook,
word, excel and powerpoint
• Willingness to work under Work Health and    Safety guidelines

KEY ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regular attendance and participation at     staff meetings
• Regular participation in performance-based   discussions
• Active involvement in agreed training
• Productively and purposefully approach all     duties
• Participate in all groups, forums, working   parties, meetings as appropriate
• Undertake the duties of the role in   accordance with the organisation’s mission,   vision and values and its Code of Conduct
• Work under Work Health and Safety     guidelines

Tradesman / Trainer

STATUS: Full time – 38 hours/week REPORTS TO: Manager
POSITION PURPOSE

To facilitate and provide hands-on skills training to young people participating in the Productivity Bootcamp in Construction program. Focusing on skills in a variety of
construction and trade-based industries whilst also assisting young people to develop the required attitude and work ethic they need to be successful employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this position you support and engage with young people, motivating them through their
growth and development. Teaching trade-based skills, building rapport, role modelling
positive behaviour and assisting them with their needs. This role includes training and
leading a team of participants to develop the required skills and attitude needed to be
successful and productive employees.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities include;
• Building rapport with participants
• Providing hands-on, practical skills training     in areas such as; formwork, concrete,
steel-fixing, roof tiling, carpentry, electrical   and plumbing
• Contributing to the development of new     learning activities
• Facilitating learning activities focused on   work and health and safety protocols such
as; hazard reviews, safe work method   statements, and environmental issues and
controls
• Facilitating team building and ‘ice breaker’   activities
• Liaising with the Team Leader to ensure   each individual’s development needs are
addressed
• Contributing to and adhering to a weekly   training schedule
• Participating in daily feedback sessions with   team members
• Leading weekly benchmarking sessions for   participants
• Liaising with Productivity Force to assist   participants to gain employment
• Providing one-on-one mentoring or   feedback sessions with participants
• Recording participant progress according to    company procedures
• Maintaining accurate records of training     and progress
• Adhering to all work health and safety   guidelines and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS
