This month our Bootcampers had the opportunity to gain real experience working on a residential renovation project and they absolutely aced it!
The opportunity arose when a member of the community reached out for help to renovate a family home after the loss of a family member. Our Bootcampers jumped at the opportunity to be involved in a real project and of course, to give back to their community.
They were given invaluable experience and training in renovation tasks like;
- Form up and pour concrete stairs
- Restoration of timber handrails, pergolas and stairs
- Wallpaper removal
- Wall and skirts prep for paint
- Timber staining
- Flooring removal and prep for floorboards
- General handyman tasks and skills
Located in the suburb of Bullaburra, their first day on the job saw real snow, but that didn’t slow this team down. They arrived to site almost an hour early, keen to get started and learn new things.
“The Bootcamp team are high performers and had a fantastic attitude towards all tasks. I am so grateful to them all! What would have taken me months was completed in only 3 days. Thank you so much” – Family Member of Home Owner
We are proud of our Bootcampers in Team 48 for such a fantastic effort. We know they will add a lot of value to any business once they graduate in a few weeks time and start their journeys in the world of employment.
